The moment of the trip arrives, and we begin to pack. Now we start to think if it is better to go travelling with a backpack or suitcase. Difficult question to answer.
In my opinion, there is no one better than the other because it depends on many things. I think both are totally valid and have advantages and disadvantages so it is difficult to choose one. It also depends a lot on the trip you make, the temperature, whether it is a trip of a few days or many and even the destination. Therefore, I recommend that before travelling you value these things well before choosing the type of luggage:

Which Luggage To Choose
First of all, we will leave the advantages and disadvantages of travelling with a backpack or suitcase.
Advantages of the backpack
- Very easy to move from one side to the other
- Many times you don’t have to bill it
- It will force you to be more selective when it comes to carrying things
- They are sturdier and less likely to break if invoices
Disadvantages of the backpack
- It can be very uncomfortable if it weighs a lot
- Clothes can be wrinkled
- You have to be strict with the order, as it is easy to get messy soon
- If you have to check it in, it can get stained easily
Advantages of the suitcase
- The wheels xd! It is very comfortable to wear
- Usually it is possible to pack more things than with a backpack
- You can check it in and forget about it inside the airport to your destination
- It is easier to organize than the backpack
- Clothes don’t wrinkle that much
- It is easier to share a suitcase than a backpack
Disadvantages of the suitcase
- It does not usually sneak in as carry-on luggage
- If you do a stopover and have checked in, sometimes you can lose it
- It depends on the material, it may be that they break easily
- By having more space, it may be that you carry more weight than allowed and have to pay the excess
Backpack or suitcase: when to use each one
This is perhaps the eternal question.
The decision is very personal, but as always I give you my point of view from my experience.
Personally, I think that if the trip is a trip to a single destination, or with a maximum change of hotel, in that case maybe the suitcase is more comfortable because you will not have to move it and in the end, your clothes will be better organized (and less wrinkled xd).
Now, if the trip includes an extensive itinerary, there will be numerous hotel changes and you will have to take several kinds of transport to get to the different places, then I would recommend that you bring a backpack.
With regard to road trips or ” road trips “, it is difficult for me to decide because although it is a trip in which you move, it is usually very comfortable because you usually do it in your own transport so in that case, I think both options will be cool.
